Cape Town Concert Brass

Richard Montgomery

Richard plays a Euphonium, masquerading as a Baritone Horn.  He also plays the guitar (to school dormitory standard) and the piano (to personal use only standard).

Richard learnt his Brass playing under Graham Coote when he joined the Bishops Brass Band back a "few" years ago.

Career-wise, Richard is an Associate of the Institute of Actuaries and runs his consulting company from a home office - see www.srms.co.za for further information on what Richard does for a living.

Richard is married to Joy.  Between them they have two children - Jacqui (who is due to marry Peter Springhall in December) and Alex (who is currently studying at University in between playing Bass Guitar for Indie Rock group Eat This, Horse).

Richard was born and bred in Cape Town, educated at the Diocesan College (Bishops) and the University of Cape Town and still recognises Cape Town as the greatest place to live on the planet.
