Euphoniums and Baritones
This section contains the following players:
- Dave Langford
- Sam Hodson
- Richard Montgomery
- John McCoy
- Michael Bax (when he is not at Stanford)
- Peter Wilkinson (also reflected under Tubas)
The Euphonium looks like a shrunken Tuba. It
provides a mellow baritone sound to the band, and is the same pitch as a
Tenor Trombone.
The Baritone Horn is a narrow version of the
Euphonium - same pitch but a less round sound. In practice our
Baritone players use Euphoniums, although this is not strictly correct for
the brass band genre. |
