Stories

Bernhard Gueller

We were privileged to have Bernhard Gueller come to do some work with us at Monday night's practice on 10th July 2006. A frequent guest conductor in North America, Europe, Asia, Australia and South Africa, Bernhard Gueller began his first season as Music director of Germany's Nürnberg Symphony during the 2005/06 season. Maestro Gueller was chosen from a field of 160 candidates and was the first choice of the orchestra musicians. This season was also his fourth as Music Director of Symphony Nova Scotia in Halifax. We certainly enjoyed having a musician of his quality and experience join us for the evening.

Other stories

Any group of musicians are bound to generate a number of "interesting" stories amongst themselves.  These will, of course, be seriously edited.

Anecdotes and reports on tours, concerts and events will be recorded here.  Look forward to descriptions of trombone players chasing wind-driven music across the plains, horn players kicking over their stands and cornet players getting lost en route to the venue.

Since the webmaster plays the baritone do not expect any stories concerning the euphonium section.
